Australian shares are poised to rise on Monday, shrugging off a sharp selloff in US Treasuries that has driven yields to multi-decade highs and heightened concerns over tighter financial conditions and global market volatility.

On Oct. 9, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite each rose 0.6%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.8%.

In the macroeconomy, investors are awaiting the Reserve Bank of Australia's minutes from its September monetary policy meeting on Tuesday.

In corporate news, Cleanaway Waste Management (ASX:CWY) said EQT Infrastructure is finalizing due diligence for its proposed acquisition of the company, and the parties agreed to extend the exclusivity period to Oct. 19.

GQG Partners (ASX:GQG) said its funds under management stood at $149.2 billion as of Sept. 30.

Australia's benchmark index rose 0.6%, or 55.7 points, to close at 8,716.60 on Oct. 9.
